Humpback whales visit Samaná Bay from mid-January through late March. During this season, whale sightings are virtually guaranteed (98%+ success rate).
What if it's not whale season?
Outside whale season (April-December), this tour focuses on Cayo Levantado island experience with additional snorkeling and beach activities.
Is the boat ride rough?
Samaná Bay is generally calm and protected. However, we recommend taking seasickness medication if you're prone to motion sickness.
How close do we get to the whales?
Boats maintain a respectful distance following marine mammal protection laws. However, whales often approach boats out of curiosity, sometimes coming very close!
